23rd APRIL 2015, BABY POTTYING
On 23rd April, a group of mums and dads challenged the parents of Simlångsdalen to give “baby pottying” a go. In other words, giving your baby an alternative to doing their business in a nappy. Instead, you let your baby sit on the potty or you hold them over the toilet when you think it is time to go. The result is fewer nappies and a happier baby. Read our letter to the editor of the local newspaper, Hallandsposten, about the event.
Hallandsposten and SVT (Swedish national television) also attended the event whilst we were discussing “baby pottying” – very exciting! PaulssonPaleo’s Catharina was interviewed in Hallandsposten and our friend Jennie by SVT.
MARCH 2015, WE HAVE CHICKENS!
Our journey towards self-sufficiency began with five Hedemora chickens, four hens and a rooster. White Vera, speckled Stina, black Sara and grey Greta peck at worms whilst Ray the Rooster keeps track of them. Recently, Vera has been broody, so we are now anxiously waiting for the eggs to hatch…
DECEMBER 2014, AWFUL OFFAL?
At the end of last year, Cecilia was interviewed about organ meat by the Swedish homeless magazine Faktum. Cooking with heart, tongue and liver was discussed, as well as the reasons why we choose to eat them. Organ meats are not only cheap food, but also wonderfully nutritious in comparison with pure muscle meat. As carnivores, we feel it is only natural to eat the whole animal, not just the fancy cuts.
If you would like to learn more about how to cook heart, tongue and liver, please sign up for one of our courses.
